* ART OF SURVIVAL was a 2008/2009 group exhibition at Meta House and Bophana Center Phnom Penh. It was a long-overdue dialogue through art that sought to address modern memories of Cambodia’s painful past. The two-part-exhibition included 40 artists of different age groups who were each given a blank canvas to document their reflections on the Khmer Rouge period. The film and book CAMBODIAN ARTISTS SPEAK OUT was funded by German Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation. It includes interviews, art works and statements by Cambodian artists who took part in this groundbreaking project.
